A Glimpse Into the 25th Anniversary Block Party
October 14th was a day of joy, celebration, and reflection for Room One. The block party offered local residents a chance to see the brand new community services building. The space showcases Room One's growth and an increased capacity to serve the community's needs. Eventgoers were able to tour the building, learn about the services Room One provides, and offer feedback about the organization’s future plans for phase two of construction which will include a second building and a courtyard.
Looking Ahead to the Next 25 Years
Room One’s Executive Director, Kat Goering, shared that the building is both a symbol and a literal representation of a new beginning for Room One and all that the organization hopes to accomplish over the next 25 years.
“Anytime there is suffering and pain around us or in our communities, that shouldn’t be the norm,” Kat said. “This event was a reminder for all of us that in the next 25 years, we hope to be ahead of a lot of these community issues that are affecting our neighbors and friends. That we’ve at least gotten to some of the root causes and made upstream progress,” she continued.
As Room One celebrated its 25th anniversary, it was clear that the organization's dedication to the community it serves remains as strong as ever. Their commitment to education, prevention, and advocacy efforts have had a profound impact on the lives of countless residents. The anniversary block party was not only a moment of celebration but also one of hope for an even brighter future.
